Candice Youngblood

Candice Youngblood works as an attorney at Earthjustice. An asthmatic and the daughter of a late diesel truck driver, Candice grew up in Los Angeles County living beside major freeways. She became motivated to protect the right to breathe clean air after realizing that the high rates of asthma and other respiratory diseases in low-income communities and communities of color are linked to their disproportionate traffic pollution exposure. Her lifepath changed when she learned how to name and frame environmental racism. Candice earned her law and bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. She enjoys playing video games, practicing spin and yoga, and learning how to DJ.
